  1. Your C V must be prepared honestly and accurately.

  1. It must communicate effectively with the recipient or assessor i.e. you must present information in a format that highlights your experience, skills and achievements in a way that can be quickly assimilated, understood and retained by a potential employer or recruiter.

  1. Your C V should be a summary only. Leave details for discussion at interviews. Too much or too little details may serve to discount you for consideration. Strike a fine balance.

  1. The finished C V should ideally fit 2 sides of A4.Quantity definitely does not mean quality.

  1. Keep the font simple (Arial) and on acceptable size(10 or 12)

  1. Think about the layout; don’t make pages too busy. Keep a proportion of clear space. Use underline or bold to highlight key words or points.

  1. Don’t forget to spell check and proofread your C V. Read your C V. A small error will mar the credibility of a well-prepared C V. Better still; get someone else to proof read.
